Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah is one of the most popular and longest-running shows on Indian Television. People love TMKOC and its characters. But recently #BoycottTMKOC has been trending on social media.
People are very unhappy with the continuous changes happening in the show. This increased the concern among the fans about the closure of the show.
Disha Vakani, who played the role of “Daya Ben” took maternity leave in 2017, but she didn’t return to the show. Since then the audience has been waiting for the return of Dayaben. Disha as Daya Ben made a special place in the hearts of viewers with her acting and Garba.
Earlier this year, on the 15th anniversary of the show, the producer of TMKOC, Asit Kumar Modi promised viewers that Daya Ben would be very soon.
He had said, “In this journey of 15 years, a hearty congratulations to all of them. One such artist is whom we cannot forget. That artist is Daya Bhabhi aka Disha Vakani.”
He added, “She has entertained the fans and also made us laugh for all these years. Fans have been waiting for her to come back and I promise you all that Disha Vakani will soon be back to Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah.”
Recently a promo was released which showed that Dayaben will return soon and Jethalal is waiting for her. The fans were very happy with this. However, when the episode came, the expectations of the fans were crashed down as this time too Daya Ben didn’t return. Due to this, people accused Modi of making false promises and demanded to boycott of the show.

What Asit Kumar Modi Has to Say?
Amidst the rumours of the show getting shut down, the producer of TMKOC, Asit Kumar Modi has now broken the silence. He has slammed such speculations and confirmed that the show isn’t going off-air.
According to Tellychakkar, Asit Modi said:
“I’m here to entertain my audience and I will never lie to my viewers. Due to certain circumstances, we are unable to bring Daya’s character back on time. But, that does not mean that the character is not going to enter the show at all! Whether it is Disha Vakani or someone else, the time will tell.”
He added, “But, it’s my promise to the audience that Daya will be back, and Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah is going nowhere. It is not an easy task to run a comedy show for fifteen years. It is one of a kind, which has not witnessed a single leap.”
What is the Current Track of TMKOC?
In the current track, Jethalal and the whole Gokuldham Society were eagerly waiting for the arrival of Daya Ben but the whole track was just a hoax.
Only a short audio message of Daya came. Jethalal was seen teary-eyed while other members of the society were disappointed as Daya didn’t return. Disappointed fans immediately took to X to criticize the creators for manipulating audience emotions for TRPs.
In the last few years, several actors have exited the show and the show received a lot of negative publicity. Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah completed 15 years in July 2023
